This was a descent western just a little far fetched in its premise. James Garner also wears a mustache throughout the movie and plays a tough guy not a lovable charactor.

You can tell from the get go (the early stagecoach robbery) this is a movie from he 1960's. James Garner is a quasi-bad guy, who tries not to kill people for the fun of it. The plot is weak (almost nonexistent), but the gunfights keep you from falling asleep. It's ok, but it isn't a Clint Eastwood movie. Oh, the synopsis is incorrect. They do not argue about how to split the money, and the gang follows Sledge to a Mexican town, not the other way around. Sledge has the gold, not the gang. They seek to get it back (they lost it to Sledge in a poker marathon game) by using his girl as a hostage. Somehow someone didn't see the movie or was on drugs when they wrote the synopsis.
