This is the movie for people who like foreign films without English dubbing or having to read a lot of subtitles. That's because there's very little dialogue - which makes sense since the main character is deaf and mute. As for the story, it's more of a "day in the life of" account of an assassin with not much in the way of a plot. Continuing the reputation of the Pang Brothers, the film displays excellent direction. Unfortunately, there are negatives to this release. The picture is in full frame and appears to be in broadcast quality resolution. The subtitles are fixed, so you can't resize or remove them. From time to time, the subtitles get cut off on the far left and right sides. And for an action film, you wouldn't expect the audio to be in stereo - even with a 2002 release date. There are no language or subtitle options. The only extra is a theatrical trailer. Recommended, but I'd wait for a special edition release with a widescreen aspect, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and more extras.

I also thought this was the Nicholas Cage version. Really bad movie in my opinion.

I ordered the disc again and got the correct one this time. I don't know why I even bothered. This movie was so lame, that I fell asleep 2x while trying to watch it. The acting was horrible. The editing was far worse. What a piece of trash. The remake with Nicolas Cage was so much better... and that really surprised me, because usually remakes are not better than originals. Don't waste the rental... really bad.
