Looking for special editions of House of Whipcord?
For all the talk of this being a classic, and "surprisingly effective", we found it "surprisingly boring." It's just OK. It's like a WIP/torture film for people who can't admit to themselves that they like that kind of thing. Very tame, despite the name.
I found the plot to be good, the acting very good, and the matrons at the House of Whipcord VERY SCARY!
Obviously, the inhabitants of the House of Whipcord are seriously deranged against young, beautiful women. The matron of House of Whipcord is truly SICK, hating attractive women who are out "enjoying life." She can't stand it, so therefore, she has set up a torture castle to "straighten" out these young women. She has a sick, sexual relatiolnship with her "illegitimate" son, which says it all. Her husband, a blind former judge who's just as demented as she is, really gets "shafted" by her, being lied to about the rehabilitation of the young girls, while she is, along with her sick staff, actually hanging these girls.
This is a well-made British film, albeit a bit gruesome in its handling of women, but it kept me glued to my seat until the very end!
wow this a movie that shows how much the Brit's hate the french. with a good story line. I also like how the girlfriend and the truck driver really cared for this french girl.
