This is a great movie, with great performances, showing other sides of the war that were unkown to me. Delicate intricate web of relationships in difficult times.

A small film about a part of WWII that I knew nothing about. It is the story of a woman raising her three adolescent children on the family farm in the Australian outback while her husband is off fighting the Japanese for over five years. She has the help of two Italian prisoners of war who act as fathers to the children. Add into the household a Jewish woman and her 20 year old daughter who escaped from Nazi Germany. There is some nudity. This is a masterful emotional drama.
