Flashdance (1983)

Flashdance (1983)
Member Rating:
Jennifer Beals stars as Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel-mill welder by day, and bar dancer by night. Harboring dreams of a career in ballet, she is given financial support in this endeavor by her boss Nick Hurley (Michael Nouri) and moral support by demanding but big-hearted instructor Hanna Long (Lilia Skala). The film's signature scene is, of course, Alex's water-drenched dance audition, largely performed in long shot by her dance double Marine Jahan. Essentially an old-fashioned backstage yarn, Flashdance was given a contemporary spin by its pulsating, musical score featuring the Oscar-winning Best Song, Flashdance...What a Feeling, (music by Giorgio Moroder, lyrics by Keith Forsey and Irene Cara). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This is another no brainer movie. If you like the music and the dancing then you will like this one. If you are looking for action, and something with meat to it, don't even bother. This is a rainy day girly movie with a little bit of zest for the boys if they like watching 1/2 naked girls with sexual inuendos. Its a good one to watch when there is nothing to do

I loved this movie the first time I saw it as a young girl and its still beautiful to this day. Never mind my age! This is a great classic. See it

Entertaining but now that i am older...well, when she sees him with another girl and she breaks his window...it's so psycho to me now....what a turn off. no class. but, she dances good. drama queen is a turn off.
