Angel Fernandez Santos made his feature directorial debut with this low-budget Spanish thriller. Upper-middle-class married father Andres (Carlos Hipolito) takes the reins of the family business from his rich stepfather (Txema Blasco). Andres meets and sleeps with boutique clerk Isabel (Cayetana Guillen Cuervo), who is involved with drug dealer Paco (Nancho Novo). A unsettling examination of adultery. In this Spanish drama, a wealthy husband and father is bored with his marriage, falls for another woman and gets sucked into a kidnapping and extortion scheme. There is a interesting message here that if one has an overbearing ennui, there may be unpleasant consequences. Well done all around.
