While it is wonderful for fans to get all this material in one fell swoop, The Incredible Hulk: The Television Series Ultimate Collection fails to live up to its name. The problem does not lie in the episodes themselves -- the video and audio and could have used a bit of remastering, but they all look and sound as fine as one would expect from a vintage television series. The problem is that this box offers absolutely nothing in the way of supplements; there are no commentaries, no retrospective interviews, not even any of the original TV ads that promoted the series. It's nice that Universal put together this box with input from The Incredible Hulk's fans but it's a shame they didn't go a few steps further to make it a true collector's edition. The lack of commentaries is especially surprising since Kenneth Johnson did a commentary for the DVD reissue of the original Incredible Hulk telefilm. Despite these serious flaws, The Incredible Hulk: The Television Series Ultimate Collection still offers plenty of superhero fun, and hardcore fans of the show will want in their collections no matter what.
